法新社報導，愛爾蘭公民馬倫（Kevin JamesMallon）據稱是英國電子商務集團THG主任，他曾在2014年世界盃足球賽面臨類似指控。
警方發表聲明說，馬倫是在一家里約熱內盧飯店與翻譯一同落網，原因是他在5日開幕式將門票賣給20多人。
警方查扣以「極高價格」售出的781張門票。
督察巴波薩（Ricardo Barbosa）在記者會表示，舉例來說，官方門票最高售價為1300美元（約新台幣4萬1000元），THG卻以8000美元（約新台幣25萬3000元）價格出售開幕式門票。
THG是2012年倫敦奧運官方售票代理商，但未獲授權販售里約奧運門票。
路透社報導，里約奧運主辦單位發言人表示，巴西從舉辦2014年世界盃足球賽學到教訓。
負責里約奧運售票事務的菲爾蒂（DonocanFerreti）說：「我們兩年前成立警察團隊，目的就在取締這類售票行為。」他說：「有鑑於此，我們今天破獲這起大宗黃牛行動。」
這是THG第2次觸犯巴西法律。2014年世界盃足球賽期間，THG經理辛頓（James Sinton）因為涉嫌非法轉售VIP方案門票，在一間里約熱內盧飯店被捕。
警方在第2起掃蕩行動中表示，他們也逮捕10名巴西人，這些嫌犯複製信用卡透過2016年里約奧運網站購票，之後再以大幅折扣價格轉售。（譯者：中央社張曉雯）1050809
